Update

Okay Kellie, here's an update so you have something to read at 4am! The youth/family softball game was probably one of the best events that we've had since I've been here. It was a really neat time of bringing families together. We had some known struggling families all come together for the game, and it was a lot of fun. Plus my team won! :) SOme of the older guys in the church came and helped out the young guys, it was just a great event, I'm really pleased about it. This will be a week of what Brian calls "piddly crap" I'm just getting all my receipts and budget stuff in order before I leave, and make sure there's nothing I'm missing and all that. We do have a jr. high bbq tomorrow night so that will be fun. I'm excited about tennessee now, we have all of the final details takeen care of, everyone's registered, and I'm just ready to get on the plane. I will try to update from TN, I'm taking my computer (I think) so if I don't update before then I'll try to update then!

Happy reading at 4am or whenever you're reading this!

Just call me Ichiro...

I've decided that I tell more prompt stories about softball than ministry, but oh well that's kinda how it works.

For some reason in last night's game our coaches decided that I was the speed demon they needed to be the leadoff hitter. I don't think in all of my years of any baseball game have I ever lead off. They wanted someone who gets on base, so that I did 3-4 with 2 walks, an rbi and 2 runs scored, and no errors in a 20-11 win! What a game! Tonight we have the Tacoma Rainiers game as a combined event, then tomorrow is the first annual youth group family softball game/bbq. Tons of people are out of town, and I don't think I've organized it terribly well, because I have no idea who's planning on coming, so please pray that event goes well. Then next week it's gearing up for Tennessee. Keep praying for the hearts of our group that is going. That they will be open to what God has for them.

Game of my life

Wow what a great softball game tonight. Yeah we lost 20-15. But I played the best game I've ever played. 4-4 with 2 rbi's. Hit a line drive over 3rd base, over 2nd baseman and 2 bloops singles. It was a great hititng night, and I played an error free frist base, made a couple of nice stretches and was on the receiving end of 2 double plays and a unassisted ground ball put out. Very nice game for me. I didn't know I could play that good!

On another note, me and sarah then had a date night and went to Red Robin and saw the Devil wears Prada. I need to rant about the movie so if you want to see it and don't want me to ruin it, don't scroll down!

Okay for those who don't care if the movie is spoiled. The movie is about a girl (Anne Hathaway) who gets this fashion job with a psycho boss (Meryl Streep) and the girl ends up changing her dress and attitude in order to fit in with this job. Her boyfriend and her break up, and eventually she decides that the fashion job is not her, and she goes back to being her normal self. I spent 2 hours watching a movie that ends how it begins, except that the guy doens't get the girl. They're broken up, and he's in Boston and she's in New York. Everyone knows my one chick flick rule is the guy has to get the girl in the end. It's pointless and a waste of time. I do have to say it was funny and fairly entertaining but drug a bit and was pointless. Oh well time for some sleep!
