Overdue

It's been a while since my last post. Seems like this week has been really busy. Things are continuing to go really well. Last weekend we had a fundraiser banquet/helper auction for our Wildhorse trip this summer. A family bought me for 3 hours for $35! Not bad. Last weekend was also a lot of fun. Seems like I spent the whole weekend hanging out, with another college age guy down here, and then Sunday we played frisbee with the rest of the college group. It's fun doing those types of things. Real Life (Jr. High) last week was a Krispy Kreme road trip and Monday was a Ugo's pizza fundraiser so instead of normal 180 group we all hung out at Ugo's all night eating pizza and having a ton of fun. In the office this week I've been working on a new Sunday school series for High School as well as starting to plan the Jr. High calendar this summer. We have all the events planned, but I'm in charge of the Jr. High summer, so that'll be a great experience and a lot of fun to plan those events. That's what's been going on this week. Also the weather's great! 85 the last two days. I even got out and played some tennis both nights, so Patrick if you read this, the rust has worn off and I will beat you! =) Next week I head up to Seattle the 1st, and I'll be around all weekend. I'm having a graduation party at my house from 2-5 so everyone's welcome.

My main prayer request for this week would be that high school Sunday school goes well. It's a different crowd than Monday nights, and I haven't met a lot of these kids, so just pray that that goes well.

Hope to see everyone when I'm in town.

I'm back

I'm back, I've returned from Bend, slightly sunburned, okay maybe a little more than slightly but not horrible. You would think I would have learned my lesson by now, but I guess not. The trip was a great chance to build relationships with some 8th graders. We had a ton of fun swimming, playing mini golf, and playing video games but had some great conversations as well. I led 2 devotional times, and it was awesome hearing stories about what God has done in their lives and how they want to live for Him.
Also in the last week, had another jr. high video game night. We took the projector to one of their houses, and had a blast. It was awesome. Things are continuing to go really well, and I'm keeping busy preparing sunday school this week, and preparing a series for high school sunday school as well. I've also been given a challenge to be purposeful in ministry with students, staff and parents so I'm working on that as well! It's weird to think that the school year part of my time in Stayton is almost over, and were heading into the summer. I'll be back up again in Seattle in a couple weeks, look forward to seeing all of you!

What a Concert!

I thought I'd update about a cool opportunity I had last night. I got tickets to an acoustic worship night with Mac Powell (Third Day) and Shawn Lewis (Hyperstatic Union) in Vancouver. It was a great concert, we showed up about 30 min. late cause of traffic (worst traffic I've ever seen) but didn't seem to miss a whole lot. It was cool hearing the Third Day worship songs with just 2 guitars. It was a great concert and worth the drive! I'll update again when I get back from Bend.

Busy

Hey everyone, this past week has been busy and it's great! Last Thursday was our first softball game and we won! It's nice being on a good softball team for once. By the way I went 2-3 and scored a run. It was a lot of fun hanging out with the guys. This past weekend a lot of you saw me! It was really nice to be home for the weekend and see everyone! This week at Foothills has been busy with 180 Monday night and getting our summer calendar planned. 180 was a lot of fun. Seemed like almost everyone went to DQ again so that was fun. I'm looking forward to the next few days. Another video game night is scheduled for Saturday Night, and I'm working on week 3 of my series for jr. high Sunday school.
My prayer requests for right now involved a trip I'm taking next week. I'm chaperoning the Stayton Christian School 8th grade trip to Bend. We're staying in condos and should be a blast. Pray that I can build relationships with the students I don't know, and pray that I have the opportunity to have some good conversations on the 3 day trip as well.
I'll update again when I get back from the trip, hope things are going well!

Quiet Week

Hey everyone. It's been encouraging to hear more and more people that access this site, and get updates! Compared to my very busy last week, this week seems very quiet, but in a good way! Wescott's out of the office all week, so I'm kinda running the show. It's been fun doing some of the day to day stuff and a lot of the preperation stuff for yesterday's high school group that I normally wouldn't do. Last night went well. I hung out at Dairy Queen after group, and got a good taste of seeing them where they're at.
One of the cool things about my week is that I've continued to build relationships with a few of the jr. high guys. 2 of them have initiated another video game night, which we're going to the weekend of May 13 at one of their houses, and they want to go show me around Salem. I also went to one of their games with another jr. high guy this past week. It's been a lot of fun and I hope that continues.
My main prayer request would be that I can connect with a few of the high school guys like I'm connecting with the jr. high.
Since it's Mother's Day weekend, I'll be up in Seattle, so hopefully I'll get to see a lot of you at church!
